Hatha Yoga & Pranayama Masterclass

This Hatha Yoga and Pranayama class is designed as a foundational yet deeply immersive experience for aspiring yoga teachers. Rooted in traditional yogic wisdom, the session offers a balanced integration of asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork) and mindful awareness, enabling students to embody the essence of yoga beyond physical practice.

The Hatha Yoga component focuses on alignment, stability, and conscious movement, allowing students to explore each posture with precision and presence. Emphasis is placed on understanding the biomechanics of the body, safe transitions, and the subtle relationship between effort and ease (sthira–sukha). The practice includes foundational Haṭha Yoga āsanas such as Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Vrikshasana (Tree Pose), Trikonasana (Triangle Pose), Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Fold) Shavasana (Final Resting Pose) etc. offering a balanced approach to grounding, extension, and relaxation. Students are encouraged to cultivate both discipline and sensitivity, developing the ability to hold space for themselves and eventually for others.

The Pranayama segment introduces the science of breath as a bridge between the body and mind. Through practices such as Dirgha (three-part breath), Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing), Ujjayi, Bhramari students will learn how to regulate energy (prana), enhance mental clarity and access deeper states of awareness. The focus is not only on technique but also on experiential understanding observing how breath influences the nervous system, emotions and overall vitality.

This module also integrates elements of:
  • Subtle body awareness (prana, nadis and energetic flow)
  • Teaching methodology (cueing, observation holding space and learning basic Sanskrit terms)
  • Self-inquiry and reflection, encouraging students to evolve both as practitioners and facilitators

By the end of the session, trainees will have a grounded personal practice, a deeper connection to their breath, and the confidence to guide others with authenticity, safety and intention.
