Vanessa Kim Roux is a South African yogi, sound healer, and retreat facilitator with over a decade of teaching experience and 900+ hours of advanced training in Vinyasa, Yin, Hot Yoga, Ashtanga, Dragon Flow and Tantra Hatha disciplines as well as healing modalities such as Level 3 Sound Healing, Crystal Healing, Thai Yoga Massage and Sanskrit Mantra Chanting. Vanessa integrates the dualities of both Yin and Yang to create a deeply balanced experience. Known for her authentic, grounded teaching style and her compassion-centered guided meditations.

An E-RYT500 teacher with Yoga Alliance, Vanessa blends ancient wisdom into modern relevance, creating practices rooted in ritual, stillness, and nervous-system regulation. She has led over 25 international retreats and curated wellness experiences within the corporate community.

A teacher of teachers, Vanessa also facilitates Yoga and Sound Healing trainings and regularly leads major wellness events such as Dubai Yoga Fest, 5 Senses AlUla, Nike Well Festival, Saudi Arabia’s Sports for All initiative and Kayan Wellness festival. Her work invites deep connection to self, and to others.



Yin Yoga Masterclass — The Art of Stillness

This 90-minute Signature Yin Yoga Masterclass is an immersive and educational journey. More than a physical practice, it explores Yin Yoga through the physical, energetic, and philosophical lenses, offering a deeper understanding of why we practice, not just how. Yin Yoga is a relatively modern evolution of traditional yoga, yet its roots are ancient. It includes Vedic philosophy, Buddhist mindfulness, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) creating a unique system that bridges East and West, science and spirituality, stillness and sensation. While dynamic “Yang” practices focus on muscular engagement and movement, Yin invites us to slow down, targeting the deeper connective tissues like fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones, through long-held, passive Asanas. At its core,Its a practice of balance. It teaches us to harmonize the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous systems. Students will be introduced to the foundational principles of Yin Yoga, including:
  • Finding your edge (intelligent sensation without strain)
  • Cultivating stillness (physically and mentally)
  • Holding space and time (allowing the body to gently open)
Beyond the physical body, this masterclass explores the energetic anatomy of Yin, drawing on the TCM meridian system and the flow of Qi (life force energy). Each posture becomes an opportunity to stimulate specific energetic pathways, supporting organ health, emotional balance, and internal harmony. Yin Yoga integrates meditation within stillness, guiding students into embodied awareness where sensation becomes observation, and observation becomes insight. It naturally brings mindfulness, introspection, and nervous system regulation, transforming the practice into a deeply meditative experience.

This masterclass also explores the philosophy of surrender, inviting students to sit with discomfort, soften resistance, and practice patience, acceptance, and presence. Designed as both a practice and a learning experience, this session equips students with the knowledge, language, and understanding needed to embody and eventually teach Yin Yoga with depth and authenticity.
