Kundalini Yoga: The Architecture of Awareness:  From Lineage to Experience

This masterclass offers a structured and experiential introduction to Kundalini Yoga as a science of human consciousness, one that bridges lineage, methodology, and experience.

The session opens with an articulation of the historical and methodological foundations of the practice, as brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan. It situates Kundalini Yoga within the wider landscape of yogic and North Indian spiritual traditions, while clarifying how the practice has been organized into a coherent and teachable form that continues to be shared globally today.

Kundalini Yoga is presented as a technology that works through the integration of posture, breath, sound, and focused awareness to influence the nervous system, glandular system, and overall mental-emotional state.

Participants are guided through the essential components that give the practice its structure and precision:

  • Kriya as a precise sequence of actions designed to produce a specific effect
  • Pranayama as a means to regulate energy and stabilize the mind
  • Mantra as the use of sound current to refine attention and internal rhythm
  • Mudra, drishti, and timing as elements that create coherence within the system

The emphasis remains on understanding Kundalini Yoga as a complete and systematic discipline, where each component has a function and contributes to a measurable internal shift. At the same time, the session maintains a clear orientation toward direct experience, allowing understanding to be grounded in what is observed.

The second part of the masterclass moves into a guided practice. Through a carefully held kriya, participants engage directly with the structure of the teachings. The experience offers an immediate recognition of how repetition, breath, and sustained attention influence the body and mind. The practice is intended to become a process of observing internal response, building capacity, and stabilizing awareness.

Designed within the context of teacher training, this masterclass supports participants in developing both clarity and discernment. It creates a bridge between understanding the methodology and embodying it, while highlighting the responsibility of the teacher to hold the integrity of the practice and remain responsive to the human experience within it.

I feel that the training offered a very genuine experience, no gimmicks, a complete focus on exploring yoga at its fullest. This training enabled me to gain a much deeper understanding of the philosophy and history of yoga, how to apply that to my life, and how to embed it within the classes I share as a teacher.

And here I am closing 20 years with Manish Pole, my Yoga teacher, coach, and a friend which makes my yoga journey unique, enriching and has shaped me to be what I am today. Another deeper aspect of his teaching style is the ability to connect YOGA philosophy with the practice which provides context and reasoning to why we are doing what we are doing.

My journey with the Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training began from a deep inner necessity, a longing to find more meaning in life, and a genuine thirst for clarity and inner peace. The online videos offer great flexibility, allowing you to move at your own pace. For me, this meant taking time for reflection and meditation, integrating the teachings rather than simply consuming information.

As a student of the M&YTT programme with Manish, and as someone who's known and learned from Manish over the years, I'm grateful and deeply appreciative not just for the depth of knowledge presented through the course; but also the spirit of enquiry and seeking that is sparked and fostered.
